Summary
Mike Wheeler never stopped loving Eleven. He never stopped carrying the guilt of what he couldn’t save. When his nearly finished book refuses to let one character go missing, Mike realises the truth: you can’t write your way around grief.
A trip to Iceland, once a promise whispered between them on a rooftop, becomes something more than travel. It’s a pilgrimage. A love letter. A chance to say all the words he never got to say.
Amid waterfalls, northern lights, and memories that refuse to stay buried, Mike must decide whether love is something you move on from…or something that asks you to follow it, even into the unknown.

“No, El, that's bullshit.” He spoke.
“The military will always be looking for me. And I can never change past that.” She spoke with dullness in her eyes.
He realized what she was planning to do. He realized she was going to sacrifice herself for him and his friends, for everyone in Hawkins.
Mike looked like he just wanted to burst into flames. He needed to keep his composure in the van, but he couldn't even try to comprehend why she would do this. He tried his hardest to think what could contradict her statement.
Right there and then, he thought of the perfect plan.
