Summary
Traveling alone and in the dark, Rudo gets lost in the forest. Unbeknownst to him, he wanders into a shrine guarded by a fox spirit.
After said spirit guides him home through the fog, Rudo decides to return and bring him a gift as thanks. He's not used to people helping him. And as it turns out, Zanka's not used to people thanking him. Thus begins a routine of long walks in the woods with the intention of visiting a fox spirit. The following is a story of the next nine months.

The first time Suguru and Satoru meet they are nine and neither of them know how important the other will be to them. Now Suguru has a permanent reminder of that first meeting inked on his skin, while Satoru probably doesn't remember him at all from back then. And that is perfectly fine. Just as fine as the tattoo Satoru has gotten for himself and kept a secret. That doesn't bother Suguru at all.

“Hi,” Wolfwood stammers out uselessly, embarrassment at his unexplained panic colouring his cheeks.
“Hey,” the stranger replies, eyes impossibly wide, watching Wolfwood like a deer does headlights.
“I, uh-” Wolfwood sits down, and deposits his drink on the counter, brushing the man's hand in the process. Just the faintest touch, barely a whisper of contact.
Wolfwood's world goes black.
Memories come back like a flood, threatening to choke Wolfwood under their onslaught. For a moment, he can’t move a muscle, his body haunted by phantom pains of being pumped full of lead. He tastes blood on his tongue and one glance at Vash tells him he isn’t faring much better.
