there was a point when he was used to them. little things would stir them up - women screaming, the turning over of an engine, the tight quarters of a small room. the world was full of landmines, and isaac learned to watch his step. now there are new bombs, new reminders.

isaac hadn't been in love with allison. they kissed, and they talked, and she would touch him and he would explore her - but it wasn't the kind of love in fairy tales. it was a mutual appreciation, two people who had lost things and found each other, unsure of what they wanted but taking what they could for the moment. he never thought she'd be lost, too.
he slips back into bed, shakes the crumbs from the end of his duvet, and goes back to sleep.
it's easier to have nightmares when you're asleep.

They met at the art museum, Ares and ‘dite, she holding court in a room of guests and statues all monochrome, more alive than any other, more beautiful than any other, more flush of color. Vibrant as fresh painted statues before sun and centuries bleach them all to white once more.
There’s a metaphor there that Apollo would draw forth, or draw, but Ares is neither poet nor artist, so he leaves that as it is, for what it is–a testament to beauty, for she is very much that, ‘dite.

This guide will help you create your own work skins to add highlighted text and text boxes to your stories.
WARNING: all the codes in this guide were tested on a computer. I can't guarantee the effect when the work they are applied to is read on a mobile phone.
CHAPTER 1 highlight text (also in gradient colors!) and mixing highlight text with colored text and new fonts. You can also give the text the appearance of having been redacted by making it appear as a block of solid black.
CHAPTER 2 Text boxes, Deadpool's thought boxes and green-on-black text in the Matrix movies, making the border, text and background of your text box be in gradient colors, making the border dotted or dashed and using pictures and gifs as a border image. You can also put the text box inside a paragraph.
CHAPTER 3 creating a text box inside another text box, with also a ready-to-use code.

I can see it all over your face when you look at me.” He presses a hand to the centre of Wyll’s chest, over his rapidly thrumming heart. “You want to hold me down and fuck me until I cry, just like anyone else.'' His voice is pure venom, poisoning Wyll’s very thoughts.
Making him flush hot with a horrid mixture of shame and arousal. “No, I—”
“Oh, my sweet.” Astarion is pitying him. He taps Wyll’s temple. “You can’t hide from me; I’ve been in here.”
A confrontation in the Shadow-Cursed Lands ends in a way neither Wyll nor Astarion anticipated.
