Summary
In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon’s designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. When the time comes to move out, however, Castiel has to reconcile himself to the fact that men are going to go down and trust that Dean Winchester may well be the only person who can put them back together again. I have no words for this. I'm not a big fan in realistic, history type themes, so I was skeptical getting into this fic but I saw the word count and number of chapters and knew that this BOOK was either not gonna be for me, or it was going to ruin my life. No in between. And it's safe to say, it has ruined my life.
This is a beautiful work of art. It's realistic, it deals with all the dirty and gritty and dark side effects of war, with the state of the world back then and the way gay people were viewed, and it has genuine character building and arcs. The characters you meet at the start are not the same ones you're reading about in the end.
This is one of those books that deserve a Michelin Star - except for written literature. Read the fuck out of this, this is one of those ones I'm gonna be keeping near and dear to my heart.

Summary
After the Burning Legion invasion, Sargeras left a last wound on the planet in Silithus. His huge corrupt sword caused a new substance called Azerite to emerge from Azeroth, causing the Fourth War between the Alliance and the Horde, who were recently fighting side by side against the Legion. The world is divided again, old alliances are broken again, and it doesn't look like anyone realizes that the true enemy is behind all of it. After a brutal attack by the Horde in Teldrassil, Anduin Wrynn, the young king of Stormwind, receives a visit from an old friend who seems to be aware of the true threat. Then, they will end up on a mission to save the entire world.

“Karl, what the fuck?” he hissed. Had wondered why Karl’d insisted on bringing the hammer.
Karl hefted the thing back up as if it weighed nothing, clumps of snow dropping from it as he brought it back up to rest against his shoulder.
“We’re gonna jog your memory,” he said, grinning. Then he adjusted his grip on the hammer and swung it, forcing Ethan to dodge again.
“If I had known,” Ethan bit out, scrambling out of the way of another blow, “that you were going to pull this shit, I wouldn’t have agreed to come out here.”
“Just trying to help here, Ethan,” Karl laughed, the sound drawing out into guffaws as Ethan cursed at him, rolling away from another blow.
“Oh, fuck you,” Ethan said, keeping his distance as Karl prowled forward.
Karl merely leered at him. “Would be amenable to that, too,” he said.
