I'm so glad I found this little story again. I first stumbled onto it when I was a teenager and was just starting to read fanfic, and I don’t think I had even seen Buffy at the time. And I was a ferocious l’il baby!kinkster, but didn’t have the words to put to my feelings yet. And so finding this little angsty riff on Xander playing with Spike’s belt was a seriously formative, aha! moment for me.

There is a poignancy Delphi brings to this pairing that I just can’t get enough of. A perfect heady mix of sordid and wholesome, innocent and just gorgeously, indulgently filthy. I love this story, the pace and momentum of it. The luridness and the sweetness.
