Summary
It hits Charlie like a punch to the gut: if Nick hasn’t gotten up since they came home from the pub last night, Nick has been in bed for the past 16 hours. Sixteen hours. Sixteen. Hours. And he wasn’t even sleeping, as far as Charlie knows. The realization sends a cold wave of panic through him. This isn’t just tiredness. This is something else. Something worse.
Or
Charlie has just followed his boyfriend to Leeds for university, and everything is going to be perfect. That is, it was going to be perfect before Nick starts to withdraw further and further, and Charlie is forced to confront the terrifying reality that the person he loves most might be slipping away—and he doesn’t know how to fix it. With their future hanging in the balance, Charlie must navigate his own fears and insecurities while trying to be the support Nick needs.

Summary
Nick gets hurt playing rugby (How original, I know) and we'll see how he struggles to heal, both physically and mentally.
We end up with an angsty Nick, who has to deal with some of his own insecurities and issues. He doesn't need to be taken care of, it's his job to take care of others. By the end, he will end up realizing that he needs other people (mainly Charlie) as much as they need him.
Basically, I kind of wanted to explore what it would be like if Nick was the more vulnerable or "hurt" one and Charlie gets to be the strong/badass guy we know he's gonna be some day.
There will be angst and drama, but there will 1000% be a happy ending. These two boys deserve it.
PS: The main story I wanted to tell is complete, but I'm not done here. I'm going to be writing various epilogue chapters, that jump ahead to various points in time, which will tie back to the main story.

Summary
Nick had been there for Charlie in the good times, and the rough. Nick was the one who pointed out Charlie might have an eating disorder, and Nick was the one to hold Charlie’s hand while he told his parents. Nick visited Charlie while he was in the hospital, and Nick was the one Charlie came home to. It was always Nick, holding Charlie up.
It’s been a year. Nick has done nothing but support Charlie in every way he can… but the universe has different intentions. When Nick is diagnosed with Leukemia, both he and Charlie realize how little control they have over their own lives.
