“Ow!” Yuuji brought up a hand, rubbing the sore spot blooming under his skin. He blinked his eyes open, meeting face to face with Megumi Fushiguro, who looked less than happy. He was all scowls and clenched fists as he stepped back from Yuuji, the center of his forehead turning red from their unfortunate collision. “Oh, Fushiguro. Sorry about—”
Fushiguro scoffed and rolled his eyes, effectively cutting Yuuji off. Yuuji shut his mouth with a slight pout, watching as Fushiguro shoved his hands into his pockets. He pursed his lips, glancing over Yuuji with disdain. “You.” He said cooly, and nothing more.
“Uh. Yes, me,” Yuuji replied dumbly.

Megumi isn’t a jealous person.
“Wow, it looks like Itadori is toeing the doorway of manhood,” Kugisaki muses, a tilt of surprise in her voice. Megumi’s eyes burn holes into the backs of Yuuji and Ozawa, watching as they walk side by side. “I can’t believe he’s gonna get into a relationship before me. I’m kinda pissed.” She crosses her arms, half-frowning.
Well, he wasn’t ever a jealous person before.

Fushiguro slumped forward, his forehead knocking against Yuuji’s collarbone.
Yuuji blinked, suddenly snapped out of his daze. He looked down, confused, grabbing onto Fushiguro’s shoulders. He tried to push him back, shook him a little, but there was no response.
Fushiguro had passed out.
Oh.

“I’m just…thinking.”
“Well, can you think out loud?” Will gripes, sounding tense and unhappy even as he settles back against Mike’s chest. “You’re making me nervous.”
Mike laughs a little. “I’m not sure I should; I don’t want to freak you out.”
“Mike,” and Will sounds supremely unimpressed, “I just took control of three Demos, two of which were miles away, and proceeded to snap their limbs and kill them with my mind. Not only that, I just told you that I did it by drawing strength, in large part, from being your friend. You’re worried about freaking me out? Really?”
“Yeah, and I’m the guy who watched you do it and thought that it was the hottest thing I’d ever seen in my life, so what does that say about me?”
There’s a long, shocked silence.
“See, this is why I don’t think out loud,” Mike jokes weakly.

Mike falls a little bit more in love with Will because, at this point, who wouldn't? He just saved Mike's life, after all. Unfortunately, the others don't quite see it that way, and it's getting to Will a little bit. Mike intends to remedy that.

It starts with a Hellfire shirt. Mike doesn't know if it's cursed or blessed because wearing it always makes Will act strangely. Then, it's spiraling into a hope Mike didn't know he could have. Will has never been closer, but Mike still isn't sure he can have what he wants. Or can he?

Mike knows this is a bad idea. Knows he’ll be red the whole time and stutter and give himself away, but this is Will. Will with his hands in his hair, so close Mike can stare all he wants. Fantasize about what a kiss might be like. Hidden away in the safety of what should’ve been their bedroom. Maybe he can use today to convince Will it can be.
“Only if you make me look good.”
Will stands with a sweet smile. “Easiest job in the world then.” And then he disappears into the hallway before Mike can even start to stumble in front of him.

Summary
Despite the near heart-attack and rough morning he’s had, Yuuji can’t stop the satisfied smile that’s tugging at his lips. Another successful day of teaching under his belt. A stressful, tiring, headache-inducing kind of day, sure, but still a successful one. As he watches his kids stream out of his classroom, chattering about what they’ve learned that day and showing off their art projects to their parents who’ve come to pick them up, Yuuji’s reminded of all the reasons why he chose this career in the first place.
Still smiling, Yuuji turns to his whiteboard. There’s a little counter he drew on in the corner labeled Days Since Last Trip to Ierei’s Office. He wipes off the messily written 9 with the back of his fist and replaces it with a 10.
Yuuji Itadori is a down-on-his-luck public school teacher with a passion for his job. From managing rowdy kids, dealing with his weird coworkers, and fending off even weirder PTA parents, his life is hard enough as is. But a new long-term sub might shake things up even more.
