Summary
"Where's George?" Dream almost didn't want to ask, fear seething down into his bone.
Sapnap gulped and looked at Bad. Dream followed his gaze and saw Bad give him a very subtle nod.
"Sapnap?" Dream called again.
"A bounty was set on George's head," Sapnap blurted out. "Hundreds, thousands of gold."
"Stop that, right now," King Henry bellowed.
"George was taken three days ago," Sapnap defied the king's wishes and finished.

Dream knew the king always had an unspoken vendetta against him. He was a good fighter, an exceptional warrior, he was better than most even at fifteen years old, and yet, he was never invited to the palace to become a knight.
This was a problem since Dream had always promised that he was going to protect Prince George. Ever since they were children, he'd always promised his best friend that he was going to protect him.
So his plan? Fight a dragon to prove his worth to the king.
Although, things didn't quite go according to plan when he came back to the news that the Prince had been taken.

In which there is a Ball at the castle but Prince George is nowhere to be found
So his knight Dream has to go looking for him.
Conversations are had, feelings are hid.
Alternatively: Prince George is literally not found and it's a Ball, that's it.

"Well everything is technically yours, Georgie," Dream stated. "Everything your eyes can see will someday be yours." Dream stood up dramatically. "This tree! This river! This- this rabbit!" George giggled at his friend's antics. "You are one year closer to the day this kingdom will be at your fingertips."
"And the first rule I will make is that you always have to be at the palace to celebrate my birthday with me," George said.
"Promise?" Dream tilted his head mischievously.

Dream had disappeared for a week, unbeknownst to even his Prince, only to come stumbling home, half-dead and injured, being carried by a stranger exactly 21 days before Prince George's 21st birthday.
Those 21 days leading up to the birthday were eventful, to say the least,
And George hated more than anything that he couldn't talk to his knight about it

"You know Techno, I think this would've gone better if you'd let me help plan," Dream commented as he kicked a guard on the chest.
"Oh, which one of this shit show could you have predicted Dream?" Techno asked sarcastically.
"I don't know, but my last plan to get George on the throne didn't turn out this-" Dream ducked over a swinging sword. "-shitty."
"Your last plan involved me, thank you very much," Techno quipped back after knocking down a soldier. "We're trying to have a conversation here." He told the soldier.

In which Dream goes off to assist Techno in a long awaited revenge plot against a tyrant king with the help of some friends.However, the plan doesn't go as well as planned and more truths are revealed.

"I think I like Karl," Sapnap blurted out.
Dream glanced at George who looked at Dream before both of them looked back at Sapnap.
"Wasn't I the one who told you that like three days ago?" Dream said, putting his sword down, going back to his previous position of leaning on the edge of George's desk.
"No you didn't," Sapnap said.
"I literally did," Dream retorted.
"Doesn't matter," Sapnap cut him off. "What do I do?"
"Well I can't say anything," George mumbled. "My knight wants to date the other one, it's honestly better for me to stay out of it."

In which Sapnap finally realizes he's been crushing on the new Knight that moved into that palace 6 months ago,
And he realizes it only because jealousy is not a pretty color on him.

"You defeated Rupert with my knights, I got my throne thanks to you, those team-ups seem to work a lot better than you running around the Nether roof alone for six weeks."

"I know," George interjected. "I didn't invite you to stay as a knight, I invited you in as a friend."

In which by some terrible mistake, Techno finds himself in George's castle with all the palace knights,
and for some reason, they're suspiciously nice.
It almost makes it hard to leave.
Alternatively: Everyone already thinks of Techno as that one cool cousin that just travels and has adventures (definitely already part of the family) while Techno is adamant that they're just 'acquaintances'.

"Why are you doing this alone? Where's Tommy?" Phil asked. "I thought I'd find him here. Doesn't he usually help you?"
"He was supposed to, he didn't show," Wilbur shrugged. "Can't say I'm too mad about it, he might try to juggle the bottles again."
"I haven't seen him all day," Phil said.
"He's probably out with Tubbo," Wilbur reasoned. "Or Ranboo."
"I just saw Tubbo," Phil said. "And I think Ranboo's out with Niki today."
"Okay," Wilbur said slowly.
"I don't like if he's being too quiet," Phil confessed.
"Okay, uhm," Wilbur looked around at the mess of his station before deciding something was more important. "I'll deal with this later, let's go find Tommy."

Since Techno started to stay in the palace, every time he leaves for his personal missions, he'd usually be back within 2 weeks.
But when he fails to meet his promise to come home in time, Tommy decides that it's not okay and figures he should take it into his own hands.
However, now it's up to everyone else to go get Tommy.

"If you don't tell me," Foyet said to Dream. "I'll just go ahead and kill your king then."
The four swords inched closer to George's throat. Dream's eyes flashed but he kept himself composed enough to look back at Foyet.
"See how well that works out," Dream replied. "You'll be very surprised about how it's going to end for you." He smirked. "I'll give you a hint, it won't end with you being king."
"Can't hurt the king, so-" Foyet said. "Change of plans then."
Foyet punched Dream across the face again. He pulled Dream by the hair, tilting his head up. Foyet slowly pressed the blade of his sword onto Dream's neck as he looked at George.
"Tell me how to get the throne," Foyet said. "Or I kill your knight."

In which the L'Manberg Kingdom are caught by unexpected betrayal and an attempted coup. That's when everyone starts to evaluate which things are really important.
