切ない - Clumsily translated, means "bittersweet," "wistful," or "the pain of things." It's a subtle emotion that can't quite be captured in words, but is often tied to nostalgia, longing and regret, and heartache within happiness.

Setsunai (切ない) is an FNF Post-Corruption Mod AU I've developed, complete with its own storyline which is currently in progress! It also involves a few of my own takes on some stuff in Corruption too...
aka this is the most canon-compliant AND canon-divergent extension AU you'll ever see :D
Admittedly it's mostly Boyfriend and Soul Boyfriend-centered since this duo has invaded my brain and is living rent free in it, buuuuut lots of other characters show up too!

None of this is canon to Corruption also, as much as I try not to contradict it. it's just an idea I wanted to write about.

The characters of Friday Night Funkin belong to the FNF dev team (and guest/mod characters from their creators)
The Corruption Mod belongs to PhantomFear! (which this series has obvious spoilers for, so go look at it!)

Notes:

Side note: this AU is very focused on base Corruption mod! It doesn't really dive into the recursive/alternate take mods very much, but does take minor inspiration from them at times. There are also LOTS of other mods that I use in this AU, so please make sure you've seen them when they're brought up!
***And also, the Celeste tag is there simply because of a single crossover fic, this AU is entirely FNF based!***
In addition, works here get occasional edits and lore gets dropped all over the place, so full rereads are encouraged. You can also find more content for the AU in the side works, feel free to check those out after reading the series in its current state!

oh, by the way nothing here is beta read. I do go back and reread stuff to fix typos (argh) and possibly add a couple extra details here and there but upon first posting whatever I write you see completely in its raw form. have fun :D
