Summary
Leonardo Hamato, his life was far from perfect, he was a Mutant Turtle forced to train to exhaustion by Splinter and being punished for not being perfect. The darkness slowly grew inside him, the resentment for his brothers and the anger for being the only one to be physically punished and he spends sleepless nights to train. But everything changes, when he is hit by a mutagen finned by a Kraang, when he wakes up he discovers that he has become a human teenager. Thanks to this change, Leonardo begins to study at the same school as April, which is also the Oruko Karai school. A friendship begins between Karai and Leonardo, which soon becomes love, Karai sees the darkness in Leonardo and convinces him to join the Foot Clan. And that changes everything.

Leonardo was the Leader of the Turtles, the oldest brother and extremely protective of his brothers. He was a focused and extremely skilled ninja. That's what everyone thought Leonardo was, but in reality, he was a Female Turtle forced by Splinter to pass himself off as male. He was forced to pretend to have a deep, masculine voice, which caused great pain in his vocal cords, and he had to endure Splinter's abuse completely alone. Leonardo wanted to be feminine, to be called a girl, not to have to feel a horrible pain in his throat and, above all, not to have the name Leonardo, which every time it was said caused unbearable pain in his soul. And her life changed when she found an injured vampire bat in the sewers and took it to her room. What she didn't imagine was that this was the Heir to the Vampire Throne and that he was more than in love with the beautiful Turtle who saved him.

This does not take place in ANY particular TMNT-verse (though it ESPECIALLY does not take place in either RoTMNT or the Bayverse monstrosity). The closest would be the Mutant Mayhem-verse, where the Turtles are actually depicted their ACTUAL ages in their early teens. Elements of IDW and other universes are included at my whim.

After two decades of suffering, trauma, and agony, Raph still felt plagued with the pain that tirelessly followed him without an end in sight. All for his family, he told himself, and if he had to go back and do it all again, he would.
He only had one problem, they couldn’t even manage to make peace with any of it, what’s a turtle to do in a time of such anguish?His panicked behaviour had gotten so harsh to the point that he actively flinched at the slightest touch from his own family, his little brother’s! He wasn’t meant to do that, he was meant to protect them. He was the big brother, the one that is the biggest, he’s meant to protect them, be their shield in times of war, so then why is he so brittle? Why can’t he even hug them anymore?
This needed it to stop, but how? After the recent invasion he wouldn’t dare bother his family with that sort of information, he’s the oldest, he’s supposed to look after them, not harm them further, so what could he possibly do anymore?
He felt trapped inside of his own scale’s, his rough and calloused scale's that had only ever been used to hurt, how could he escape, but still be there for his family? -
