Amphoreus was no longer a simulation and so, its people are now 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 than 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢. But, you see, the human mind isn't 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘵 to bear the burden of 33 million lifetimes 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. Only the robust body of an 𝘌𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 could bear it. Like him. L̶i̶k̶e ̶C̶y̶r̶e̶n̶e.
Now, all they knew of was his existence and his role in saving them from their fate. He has truly become nothing more than a legend who only belonged to a storybook now.

That actually gets Mydei to perk up. He sluggishly lifts his head, the movement so unsteady that Phainon’s hands shoot out to steady him by the shoulders. Mydei doesn’t even seem to notice—which is worrying. Sure, this might be an era of peace for them, but would he really let anyone touch him like this when he’s this drunk?
“Pah! Hish—history?” Mydei fires back, the word wobbling out of his mouth so badly Phainon briefly wonders how much they’ve been drinking. “I’ll—I’ll tell you about history. It starts in Cycle Zero.”

When Aglaea asked him to pick Mydei up after a drinking session with Cerydra, Phainon did not expect to hear Mydei recount all the different ways he has loved across 33 million cycles.
