Summary
Vilkas is a respected and feared warrior, one of the best in Skyrim. This is his 20th year as a member of the Companions, and while he should be content with this life that few could even hope to have, it all feels empty. Everything seems to be crumbling around him and he begins to break under the weight of the secrets he has carried all these years. Though he is desperate for change in his life, he balks when it comes in the form of a sorry excuse for a Nord fresh out of Cyrodiil. When I started this fanfiction, it was because I had a great love for the game of Skyrim and had read a great many other works myself but wanted to create something I thought I would more thoroughly enjoy as a reader and put the things *I* wanted from a story. During that time, the world was still scarred and recovering from Covid and I was eager and excited at my progress. Never having accomplished what I had before and I had been proud at the time of the work I had done. And in doing so had pushed out much of my work rather swiftly.
Now, five years later, I look back on my work and while I still carry a sense of pride in it, there is much I can see and acknowledge needs changing. Mainly due to my own development as a writer over this time period of enjoying hobbies that have helped me improve.
With that being said. I know I can provide a better story with more realistic portrayals, more in depth development, less laziness and better all, higher quality.
