Until Lily is assigned to tutor Barty Crouch Jr for the school year because he skipped class the year before, she only accepts under the encouragement that it would guarantee her head girl.
Until James comes up with the bright idea to convince Regulus to talk to Sirius and forgive him. He would do anything for his best friend including forcing his little brother to talk to him no matter how long it takes.

In the fall of 1972, Barty Crouch Jr. set off to Hogwarts for the first time. He knew what was expected of him. Make a good impression, ace his classes, gather advantageous peers. Don't muck it all up like usual. He stood alone at King's Cross Station, his father's words ringing in his ears, taking in the Hogwarts Express and everything it represented.
The first thing Barty remembers from Platform 9 and 3/4 is Evan's face.

Evan Rosier was no stranger to oddities. Please, the dark artefacts littering the halls of his family manor were enough to fill a museum. He was also no stranger to parental pressure - not that he concerned himself with it. He rather thought these things just came with the pureblood territory, but there was something different about Barty.
All Evan could think of was how tragic the boy across from him looked.
