Summary
Kathryn Walker is attempting to pick up the pieces of her shattered life following the tragic death of her parents. She had plans for her life, but is now lost without her parents' guidance. To top it all off, she's attacked by a mysterious police cruiser a month after their deaths. An alien robot posing as her car rescues her and just like that, she's thrown into a new series of dangers. As it turns out, her parents' deaths might not have been an accident after all. personally, i see this as a bit of an exploration into codependency - and simultaneously, a passion project. both yusuf and rosalie are deeply important to me. it actually began as a fanfic - a crossover between nathan bateman from ex machina, but as a welder rather than a tech CEO, and he adopts cassie ainsworth when she was a baby. but i felt that my characters diverged quite a bit from their canon versions, so i decided to change their names and backgrounds. but nonetheless, this story has been fragmented in my mind for a while and i felt the need to put it into words. i haven't written a story out of passion since sixth grade, but i hope i managed to do yusuf and rosalie justice. and i hope their story can make you feel something.

The somewhat peaceful town of Happy Treeville changes when a human woman named Mattie is unthawed from a freezer thanks to a curious Lammy. Mattie's appearance shocks the town as humans are long thought to be extinct.
Mattie for her part, comes to quickly enjoy her new life in Happy Treeville (since her previous life before she was frozen wasn't all that great to begin with) sans ignoring the fact that she and the rest of the residents of Happy Treeville keep dying in horrific ways nearly everyday, with them waking up the next day with no memory of what happened the day before leading to their deaths.
Mattie however realises that she's one of the few residents in the town that remembers her deaths and sets off with a few others to uncover the mystery as to why the residents of this town keep dying.
