Summary
Lydia Brenner had few memories of her childhood. She had never questioned the three formative truths she'd clung to for long as she could remember:
1. 10 years ago, Dr. Martin Brenner had rescued her from the psychotic child-testing laboratory he'd been doing research for,
2. They'd fled, as father and daughter, to unassuming Hawkins, Indiana where she'd tried for years to mend the gaps and empty places that remained in every part of her
and...3. She was devastatingly and irrevocably devoted to the memory of a boy and his haunting blue eyes— the one her papa insisted had been a figment of the fractured, comfort-starved mind of a child.
She'd never questioned it—until she could no longer deny herself the one thing she'd known inherently, the one thing she hadn't needed to be told: the exact shade and feeling she would recognize immediately if the deepest desire of her heart were to ever miraculously materialize before her.
And, somehow, it had.
Somehow, they were here now: real, raw, undeniably his.
Familiar. Devastating. So very blue. They were here— and they were staring at her.

Summary
In which Will Byers is bored, and Mike Wheeler volunteers to be his muse.
OR
“Hey, wait.” Mike stops him, grabbing his arm. Will tries not to think about Mike's warm fingers, pressing into his forearm, tries not to think about how much he wants them to stay there.
“Yeah?” He says, turning back around to face Mike, whose eyebrows knit together, like he didn’t quite know what he wanted to say, or can't find the words to say it.
“Nothing. Never mind. It’s stupid.” Mike says, and he lets go of Will’s arm. It feels empty, cold.
“It’s never stupid.” Will says softly. He can’t help himself. It’s like he’s hard-wired to make Mike feel better, like he’s been programmed to feel physical pain when Mike is upset. “What is it?”
“I just- I- would you paint me?” He asks. “It would be just like when we were little.” Will barely has time to think about why Mike is asking, and what this means, because the second Mike adds: “Please?” in that soft voice of his, Will is gone.

Summary
He’d finally found what he was meant for.
The end of the world wasn't a great place to figure that kind of thing out, but it was good to know anyway. Steve Harrington wasn't a has-been jock with no ambition, no girlfriend and no future: he was a has-been jock with no girlfriend, no future, and a surprising passion for radio production.
(It only took him ten years, four radio stations, and a few thousand broadcasts to figure out the rest.)

Summary
“Aren’t you cold, Will?” Mike keeps going, studying his face. “You’re always cold.” He doesn’t even wait for an answer.
“Here, give me your hands,” he says quickly, already holding his own out toward Will. “I’ll warm them.” He looks at Will a second too intensely, like this matters far more than it should. Robin snorts quietly.
“Oh, thanks Mike,” Will says, flustered. “I’m okay, but maybe—” he fumbles with his coat pockets, distracted, searching for something, finally pulling out a pair of blue gloves. “You might need these. You can have mine.”
or; Mike is painfully obvious about his feelings for Will, yet he’s convinced no one has noticed; no one at all, except for Robin Buckley.
