Summary
Cassa Ironbrooke and Eliana Krahl are stranded in the border town Moonbridge. To leave, their choices are bleak: fight through monster-infested wilds, or pay ship fares they can't afford. Either way, they're stuck.

This fic depicts Robert as a person with pretty significant trauma and deep-seated depression who, while basically functional on the surface, has never really confronted it and so has a lot of negative self-talk about it. He’s also struggling with chronic pain and some other stuff, and so. Heed your own boundaries about what you want to read about.

While Ash, Misty and Brock are having a lunch break, Ash spots a Meowth close by. Thinking it's Team Rockets Meowth, he tells Pikachu to attack it. However this Meowth belongs to a Trainer named Roz. She tells the group she's part of the Scratchya Family, who are known to be Breeders of pet Meowth. The group joins her on her way home, but once there they find that Roz' cold, judgemental aunt is in charge of the Breeding Centre. It turns out some disturbing changes have been made while Roz was gone, and Ash and his friends want to help her find out why and how this happened.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket schemes to steal the Meowth at the Breeding Centre, and Pikachu while they're at it. Team Rockets Meowth plays a vital part in their plan, but Jessie and James don't realize what consequences it has to present a talking Meowth to Roz' ruthless aunt...
(PS 1: I realize this may not be the most exciting description of this story, but I promise I did my best on the dialogue and the action and giving each character their place in the spotlight)
