Summary
Dean wondered whether he would get bored with Heaven eventually. The endless cycle of family cookouts, roadhouse game nights and long drives into the sunset was easy happiness he was more than willing to settle for. And sure, Heaven wasn’t perfect, but there was peace; and after all the apocalypses prevented, Dean was just tired.
But then the real Jack returns and Dean's hard-earned peace is swept away by the chaos of a new war against the false god. Midst the fighting across all planes of existence, from Heaven to Hell, all Winchesters need to learn hard lessons about the family they want, and the family they need.

Summary
God is gone. His hegemony over heaven, earth, and all of its forces dissolved into infinite specks of free will. But power always concentrates. Like mass, it pulls itself together, like dust trough vast space turns to stone, pulls moons towards planets, planets towards suns, spin galaxies inevitably into a single black hole. It might take time, but the new rulers of this world will emerg. Curiously, this story starts the same as our last, with father and son.
A young dad recruits Clair and Kaia to look for his baby boy’s soul. It happened with no fanfare or fight; early in a rainy morning an eery blankness folded over his eyes and his spirit was gone.
Although things unravel around them at a vicious pace, they keep their promise to Sam. Everyone keeps Dean and Cas out of the loop. That is, until another magical infant enters the picture, and Clair and Kaia quickly find themselves overwhelmed by the responsibilities coming with her. Dropping the little girl off with the retired hunters has its dangers, and the two of them know that, but it’s love at first sight and damn the consequences, she is family now. Because of an ancient sigil being accidentally triggered, Sam, Dean, Castiel, and the sexy electrician who came over to fix an outage at the bunker are unable to leave the building.
As they solve the mystery, the only problem—which seems to be becoming solely Dean's problem—is that this electrician appears to have a thing for Cas.

“I dunno, man, I don’t really think of it like that. Time wasn’t like that in the cage. And, especially after Cas took a lot of it, the whole thing feels, you know, apart,” Sam says.
And it’s true. Like his time in the cage is part of a different life, one mostly remembered but only half-felt. Just as distant as his days at Stanford. Just as distant as his days with Ruby. Maybe he’s just too good at extracting the pieces of his history that are painful. Maybe Dean is so stuck in his pain because he’s just a bit more human than Sam is.
“That’s good. That’s really good, Sammy.”
_____Chuck's been defeated. Jack is gone. Cas is dead. Sam is ready to build a new life but Dean's grief threatens to consume him entirely. Sam tries to balance finding his own happiness and being there for his brother. But Dean gravitates toward Claire, another hunter who deals with embraces anger to deal with pain.
OR
Dean’s loved ones watch as he monumentally self-destructs while grieving his angel. There will be eventual happiness.
