Summary
It’s a Friday afternoon. On Fridays, Sirius goes to the pub with his friend James. James sometimes brings his wife along, and sometimes just countless pictures of his son. Sirius sees the kid at least twice a week but still he looks at each photo as if it were a great treasure.
Remus goes in fifteen minutes after them, sometimes half an hour. Sometimes he doesn’t go in at all and sits in his car instead, waiting for the bartender to call last orders. Twice he felt brave and sent a drink to Sirius’ table, but left before it was delivered. Both times the bartender told him the same: this is a pub, mate. You want to talk to him, go talk to him, I ain’t doing table service.

Summary
It's a rainy autumn morning when Sirius finally does it. The choice of weather seems to be a little overdramatic, but at least Sirius's soaked coat matches the feeling inside of him.
Not yet 24, homeless, with a family he just fled from, and no friends he can rely on. He obviously can't stay in London. It's a big city, but not big enough so that the weird acquaintances of his father wouldn't find him. He isn't quite ready to leave England yet, so there really is just one logical answer: the south. Somewhere on the coast. Sunny weather, fish and chips, and open-minded people. That's what comes to Sirius's mind when thinking about the south.
Well, it's still October, but maybe he's right about the food and the people.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

Sirius Black is hard work.
Remus Lupin is a successful documentary filmmaker who is assigned to make a fly-on-the-wall documentary featuring Sirius Black - one of the world's most brilliant footballers - as he competes in the European Championship.
All does not go smoothly.

Summary
The four-by-four heaves its way down long, twisting lanes, little more than dirt tracks scuffed into the surrounding fields and hemmed in by serpentine walls of flat, grey stone. They truly are in the middle of nowhere: the countryside rushes past, all rolling green hills and vast, endless skies, and it's odious. Sirius wants to murder James with his bare hands.
Sirius and James accidentally find themselves on a Yorkshire farm during lambing season. The farmer’s son thinks that’s a bit annoying, actually.

words can’t describe how giddy i get at fics set in yorkshire or northern remus, catch me jumping up and down with a white rose flag
this was such a lovely read and the epilogue made me all weepy
i moved back to yorkshire in autumn from london and i’ve been struggling a lot to piece back together my identity, and my queerness
i miss london dearly and my yorkshire village is a lot less quaint and peaceful than this but i read this and realised i forgot how much i love being from here and that i’ve not lost part of myself coming back
bit deep but you get the picture lol, a wonderful read with so much heart and warmth in it -

aaaaa i’ve been thinking about dbhks a lot the past few weeks and what i think of them as and how i see them and all the intricacies in my brain and woahhhhhhh this just gets it
there’s something so grounded and realistic about the writing here, so painfully human and raw. the sex, the yearning, the pain, the dreams that burn up, pretending none of that matters
i graduated university this year and between playing with the dabihawks’ dynamics, it somehow fits in how terrifying being in your mid 20s can be when faced with your own feelings and figuring them out. while it still just gets touya and keigos characters and how they respond and work with and against eachother
just really great stuff to be honest, such a good read
