Arthur Nightingale thought he’d gotten used to the monster Entrati made of him—helminth armor skin, glowing eyes, sharper teeth, retractable claws, and the cursed rut that drove him into isolation every few months. What he hadn’t accounted for was Verden.
The Drifter was supposed to be just another teammate, another survivor clinging to life inside the ruined mall. But Arthur’s instincts didn’t see him that way. They snarled 'mine' every time Verden laughed with someone else, every time someone leaned too close.

Summary
Being up at the very front of the stage as opposed to standing all the way back was a different experience entirely for Wise, much louder and intense, overwhelming even. Yet he was entranced by Lighter, the man singing with such fervor and passion, leaving him dazed and star struck again.
It left him breathless, clutching the bag close to his chest as Wise continued to observe the band before him. Heart thumping wildly, completely speechless.
Maybe Belle was right about this being a crush, though Wise didn’t want to acknowledge it. They were still strangers, after all. He hardly knew Lighter and vice versa, having a crush on someone he barely knew seemed rather juvenile, especially when this is their second time seeing each other.
But seeing Lighter up on stage, smiling wide and singing his heart out, Wise felt the urge to keep on seeing him.

Its persistence is matched only by the Z-Team's stubbornness as they force their dispatcher to join them in activities they think will warm him up.
