Summary
And then Eddie exhales, shaky and uneven, the words spilling out before he can stop them. “I think we should kiss,” he says.
Buck blinks. “What?”
Eddie laughs once - a short, nervous sound - but the words keep coming, unstoppable now. “Just… to see what it’s like. I hadn’t really thought about it before now, not seriously, but - there’s something different about tonight.”OR
It's not about the fire.
It's about what comes after - the quiet, the burgers gone cold, the shared milkshake that always tastes a little too sweet.
Buck talks too much. Eddie doesn't say enough. Somewhere between the laughter and the late nights, something starts to shift - soft, unspoken, inevitable.
Three nights. One confession
And all the things they never meant to say out loud. -

Summary
Eddie found himself in a modest home that stretched his finances to the limit, but it was a necessary step for him and his son. He applied to the 118, a renowned firefighting station known for its excellence. Although Eddie was confident in his qualifications, a lingering doubt clouded his optimism. The firefighting community was one he admired deeply, and the thought of joining such a respected team filled him with both excitement and trepidation.
OR
Eddie is trans and estranged from most of his family. He builds a new life in LA with his son and finds purpose at the 118. As more of the team learns the truth, guilt eats at him—especially knowing Buck has feelings for him, and Eddie still hasn’t told him.
When Buck finally learns the truth, it doesn’t change how he sees Eddie—in fact, it only deepens his admiration and love. Their relationship begins with quiet certainty, a sense of finally finding home in each other. Buck steps in seamlessly with Christopher, and for a time, the three of them carve out a life filled with hope. But as the dust settles, cracks begin to form.

Summary
Evan Buckley didn’t break bones the way other kids did. He learned that in eighth grade, when he fell off the roof of the gym during a dumb dare. Landed on the concrete. Hard. Everyone thought he’d shattered something. He got up. Winded. Bruised. No break. Not even a sprain. The nurse said he was lucky. Buck knew better.
He didn’t feel lucky. He felt wrong. Like there was a blueprint for how a person was supposed to work, and he’d been printed just slightly off-axis. Because it wasn’t the first time.
OR
An AU where Buck is the Spider-Man of this universe. Getting his powers as his parents were desperate to heal Daniel, they sought help beyond conventional medicine. An experimental treatment that might jumpstart Daniel’s immune system through enhanced gene therapy using a matched donor’s stem cells. Create a sibling. A perfect donor child, whose DNA could be pre-modified to produce regenerative stem cells and enhanced immunity. Buck was this perfect donor child.
Buck learns how to juggle being Spider-Man and a firefighter. He also faces the looming threat of Connors, who is relentlessly pursuing him. Meanwhile, the rest of the 118 are beginning to piece together the mystery of his secret identity.

Summary
Eddie had previously advised Buck to refrain from wallowing in self-pity, so he was well aware that this time would be no exception. The tsunami that swept through Los Angeles had impacted everyone, yet Buck couldn’t shake the feeling that its effects were weighing down on him more heavily than on others. He found himself grappling with an overwhelming sense of despair, as if the waves had not only crashed over the city but had also submerged his spirit, leaving him grappling for air in a sea of regret and sorrow. Buck recognised that he was struggling significantly; nights were plagued by cold sweats and haunting dreams where he repeatedly lost himself and Christopher in the chaos of the tsunami.
OR
Buck has PTSD from the tsunami and doesn't want to admit it to anyone. When Eddie, Bobby and Christopher find out they help him out with one of his episodes.

Summary
He felt trapped.
He watched other kids at school laugh about parties, football games, the future. College. Freedom. That word always hit like a bruise. Because for Eddie, freedom wasn't just about breaking curfew—it was about having the right to imagine a life beyond the border of his neighborhood, beyond the weight of family expectation.OR
From his earliest days, Eddie Diaz has been searching for freedom—escaping the shadows of his past, the pressures of family, and the chains of responsibility that never seemed to end. It isn’t until he joins the 118 in Los Angeles that Eddie finally begins to grasp what freedom truly means: carving out a life on his own terms, embracing the man and father he’s meant to be, and finding a place where he truly belongs.

Summary
There is no term to describe an initial encounter between strangers who will unknowingly become immensely important to one another. Perhaps the Japanese are the closest with “Koi No Yokan (恋の予感)”, meaning the feeling oneself and a stranger will fall in love. But this is not that story.
This story isn’t about love at first sight, or fate, or even a romantic tale that moves casually from point A to point B.
This story is about a man who is desperate to feel again and another man who is desperate to stop feeling so much. As so often seen, desperation breeds conflict and confusion. Sometimes, of course, it just breeds.
(Basically, it's SamBucky FWB)
