The child's mother was a local, a slave mechanic. He'd take a look at her after the trip to Gardulla's, see what she knew, and then leave this sandy hell-hole of a planet.

Oberyn Martell is not allowing any more children to die in this war, especially those whose mothers his sister loved. Things spiral from there, really.

“Give me that,” Ashara snaps, and pries the child away from the other Northman, whose name she will later learn is Reed. To Arthur, she says, “when did he last eat?”
Arthur tells her, and before Ashara’s modesty can get the better of her, she is pulling her left arm from its sleeve, allowing the front of her dress to drop, and holding the baby in place. There is a tense moment of nothing, and then he latches on and Ashara almost cries. Eddard and Arthur are both staring at her like a woman possessed. Reed’s eyes are firmly fixed on the floor.

Fives times Arya shocks her siblings and one time they shock her.
When they’re young, of course they know Arya is the wild one. But it’s not until she gets old enough to start sitting in on the lessons Sansa had used to take alone that they realise how wild she really is. At first, the little sister she had always wanted sits in on the sewing and music lessons with a sort of stubborn single-mindedness to get it all right. It’s clear to everyone, though, particularly to Septa Mordane, that Arya is not gifted like Sansa is gifted.
Arya can’t sew a straight line, even when given instruction, and when they’re listening to the songs about knights she only cares about the ladies with swords and the names of dragons, not the love story at the core — not the most important bits. And she doesn’t understand Jeyne’s japes and she doesn’t have any comments to make about the comeliness of certain stablehands or — or anything.

Jon has always known, in the back of his mind, that he’d do anything for his family. But he’d never thought he’d actually be here – here, being an abandoned Northern moor at 3 in the morning, knee deep in swamp as he pushes a corpse beneath the murky water.
He feels like he should have hesitated more than he did, should have been torn, but he wasn’t. It was easy. It was Sansa’s wobbling voice over the telephone and Arya’s swearing in the background, and that he was the first one that they called. He didn’t even think about it before he was leaving his apartment, Ygritte still softly snoring, with a shovel in the trunk of his car.
Wherein, the Starks have got to make a body disappear, a murder not-happen, and have to calm down their irate mother. Sometimes, Jon really hates his siblings.
