Her instinct right now is to call him, to check in and see if he’s okay. But she won’t, because they aren’t really like that anymore. Lucy meant what she said in that elevator, she’s still mad at him. But, just like in that damn elevator, she can’t help but do something to show him she cares, because she’s pretty sure her concern for him will forever outweigh anything else she might feel. So, a text will have to do.

She turns back to face Wesley and she can see by the expression written on his face, the one akin to guilt, that he must've reached the same conclusion she has. Tim hasn’t quite reached the stage of feeling ‘glad’ about any of this, yet. “Or, at least, he will be.”

“Is this Lucy Chen?” Lucy absentmindedly answers with the affirmative, trying to think of what she recently signed up for that would call with her real name. “I’m a nurse at Shaw Memorial. I have you listed as Tim Bradford’s emergency contact, is that correct?”
Her stomach immediately twists as bile rises up her throat.
If it were anything else, she would have hung up. She wants nothing to do with Tim right now; she can’t. It hurts her too much to even think about him.
But someone’s calling about his emergency contact—from the hospital. And despite everything she’s feeling about their breakup, she can’t bear the thought of losing him for good.
