Summary
Eddie wasn’t friends with Steve, really.
Sure it was nice that they had saved the world together and all and he definitely didn’t hate the guy (especially since apparently ‘King Steve’ was as dead as a doornail), but they weren’t exactly friends either. The guy was a stupid jock, for fucks sake, he was opposite to Eddie in about every way in the book. Had it been two years ago Eddie probably would have been beaten for breaking in, for even so much as looking at the Harrington household.
But here he was now, actively breaking into Steve’s back garden in order give him a piece of his mind. In order to let Steve know that people cared about him of all things.
Or
In which Steve is a dumbass who self-isolates post-Vecna and pushes just about everyone away. This leaves it up to Eddie to try and break-in to not only Steve's house but also past his walls of defensiveness, since apparently the guy was never that great at coping with shit in the first place.

Summary
The Squawk had become their cover, their communication hub, their war room. Robin did the actual broadcasts mostly playing music and reading pre-written community updates approved by the military presence in town, but the real purpose was the coded messages. Steve had helped her set up the whole system, spending hours figuring out how to get all the sound effects she wanted, taping things to walls and attempting to MacGyver random things around the station. That was just who Steve was, but looking around the room now, Robin wondered more and more if anyone else actually saw that.

Summary
After stumbling upon a flyer for a shared apartment, a depressed Jonathan leaves home in the hopes of finding peace. When he discovers who the other tenant is, he considers leaving—but remaining changes things in his life.
As he studied Steve, he noticed something was different. Something about him had changed. Whether it was maturity, he couldn’t tell—but things weren’t as he remembered. For one, he looked worn out, like life had finally caught up to him. The confident sparkle in his eyes was no longer there—instead, it was replaced with something else. Something darker. Hurt. That alone was easy enough for Jonathan to identify.
Even though his instincts screamed at him to pull away—something else, something he couldn’t suppress—urged him to stay. Jonathan couldn’t decipher what it was. Desperation, empathy, or perhaps a sense of longing. Because when the two of them made eye contact, Jonathan found that outwardly, they were no different.

Summary
"Yeah, Harrington," he heard Hopper say. "Anytime. It's not easy to be a bruiser in this fight."
I'm not a bruiser, Steve thought to himself. I'm a goddamn kamikaze.
He rattled out some mindless reply, one that not even he was able to repeat. Then he slowly loaded the rest of the boxes into his Beamer and drove down to the high school, tailing behind Hopper. When they lulled to a pause at a stop sign, Steve pressed his forehead to the steering wheel, took a breath, and fought back the urge to drive his car off the quarry cliff.
He didn't know when the switch had happened. When I'd be willing to die for them turned into I'm going to die for them turned into I need to die for them. Once it had happened, however it had come to be, he hadn't been able to shake the pledge. It'd been cemented into his mind. He supposed that was why they called suicide a commitment.
or, unable to lose anyone else, Steve writes a list, ranking his friends by how quickly he'd sacrifice himself for them. 5 times someone finds the list but doesn't realize what it is + 1 time they understand it perfectly.
