Stephanie stood still as a statue the instant she felt a smooth surface against her face.
"Whose butt is in my face?"
Her words came out as a whisper, muffled to near inaudibility by Batman's cape. She was the most quiet out of the growing cacophony of harsh whispers. But that didn't last when said smooth surface neither identified itself nor moved away from her face.
"Whose metallic butt is in my face!?"
"Grayson, you said there was a stash of candy in one of these compartments—where is it!"
Nightwing was just about to show Damian the compartment where Bruce kept lollipops, mostly to comfort kids. And he made sure to do so with haste because the supposed "World's Greatest Detective" kept them in a compartment literally right next to his similarly circular smoke-bombs. That's when he felt the sharp end of a batarang nip at his butt.
"OW!—....who the fuck just poked me in the butt--"
"--SO IT WAS YOU!"
"Why is Jason even in here, he's too big to fit."
"Oh I know you're not the one talking."
"... what's that supposed to mean?"
"It means lay off the late night snacking."

Bruce could hear some kind of screaming coming from the back of the store. He made eye contact with The Joker who had a grin on his face, not unlike one he would have facing the Batman.
"You should look into getting your vents checked, broken ones make an awful racket.” He told the man. The Joker’s grin widened.
“Thank you, dear customer! I’ll definitely get that checked out. Now, your total should be 13,56 dollars.” The Joker said, bagging the medicine in a strawlike grocery bag.
Bruce nodded and handed a twenty bill to the man. “Keep the change,” He added as The Joker handed him his bag.
Sometimes Bruce really hates his life, like right now.

Duke opened his eyes and met Damian Wayne's green ones.
"You... I was... you brought me back?"
The boy let go of his hand. "Tt. It wasn't difficult. You're just incompetent."
Duke blinked.
"As I was saying, I need your assistance. And your last name."
"Thomas... I'm Duke Thomas."
Damian nodded, as if the sight of him dissolved into pure light, a secret Duke had been trying to hide for months, was completely normal.
"Fine, Thomas. Follow me."

"I'm not giving you my soul!"
"Okay," Damian said slowly. Duke met the most indifferent look anyone had ever given him. "I didn't want it."
"You don't want my soul? Then... why did you make a deal with me?"

Or: Damian goes to school on a mission. Unfortunately for Duke, this will become his problem (at least he gets free lunches).
Also, Duke gets a Wayne Scholarship, Damian makes friends, Jason reads Austen, and Dick has a nice smile. Somehow, this means Alfred gets a new nephew.

Apparently happy with the choice, he pulled the bowl out and scrapped the covering, next going for a large serving spoon from one of the doors so he could shovel it into his mouth like a starved dog. "Fuckin' chopsticks was what we had to keep an eye on." He added in between mouthfuls, giving Dick a smirk and a knowing glance, as if they were both in on it and Dick knew anything about what he meant. "Anyway, I'm out. See you next family reunion, or tragedy or whatever."
And then he was gone, as was one of Alfred's favourite serving spoons and bowl, and the potato salad Dick knew for a fact Bruce had been saving to eat for lunch the next day. Jason probably knew that part, to be fair.
"...Chopsticks?" He muttered to himself, baffled, in the now empty kitchen.
