It's not that Ichigo didn't think that he was worthy of love and kindness and affection.
It's just that every time he reached out for comfort after being bullied or harassed, he is told that he is strong enough to fight his own battles so why should anyone have to help him?
And yet, Ichigo was still expected to be kind? To want to offer his life and limb up for those who wouldn't watch his back? To cherish live that would see him dead in the dirt if he wasn't useful?

And for Vik, the ice beneath his feet finally cracked. Life pushed forward, pulling him from the past and his stagnated loneliness—whether he wanted it or not.
This is a story about what comes after the end, and what we’re willing to do—and to endure—for love and freedom. Waking up broken, trying to rebuild a body, a purpose, to find a warm place in the sun.
I wrote this to fill the immense hole this game left in my chest—and to give my favorite broken dogs the ending they deserved.
