Chronos is welcomed, albeit somewhat hesitantly, into the Crossroads. This place, once a camp hellbent on his destruction, now serves as a hub to undo the harm he has wrought.
When fighting him, Melinoë never saw many moments of softness. But one fateful night, it was as though he became a new person entirely—And those softer moments became much more prevalent.
In one of these (rather more frequent) moments of softness, Chronos shares a piece of the possibility that Zagreus granted him.

Summary
Thia isn't expecting to see Dek when she walks through the ship's passageway, but here he is, with a very odd look on his face. She's had to do some quick work with her own coding, re-calibrating her emotional center to include reactions to Yautja expressions, and then building a library of Yautja expressions and their meanings once she realizes that there is no database to refer to. It's really more of a library of Dek's expressions and their meanings, since he's the only one she's got to reference, but it's better than nothing.
This, however, is a new one. She quickly catalogs it as “discouraged/resigned/grieving/tired” and files it away in an “unfinished” folder for later interpretation.
“Dek?” she asks. “What's wrong?”
“I can't {unintelligible} reach,” he says, and Thia blinks.

The two brothers struggle to adjust not just to a new home but to a new culture and the discovery that much of what they believed about the world and the codex was wrong. But even as they find a way to fit into this new life, the shadow of their past lingers - and Njohrr accepts defiance with as much grace as he does weakness.

Summary
It was hard to mourn a man who was hardly ever around, yet Robert still did. It’s even harder to mourn a man who was still alive, but Robert had never been one to fall into the given standards set up for him.
He tilts his head, and lets himself get one last look at the man before him. Almost predictably, Robert finds no remorse in those eyes. No guilt, nothing. It’s enough to crush that hurt down, to let the familiar anger that kept him going all those years guide his finger back, even as traitorous tears sting the corners of his eyes.

Or, Robert gets his chance to fulfill a promise, and by god will he take it if it’s the last thing he does.

Quinlan knew there was no convincing Obi-Wan at this point. “Fine. But don’t come crying to me when things go wrong.”
