Summary
Sam Britain, Sam Black, Sam Butler no matter how many ways she changes and the new things she calls herself. Sam somehow finds the light, she is adored by strangers and her magnetism can't be stifled no matter how hard she tried to strangle it away.
That is until Evan finds a cat, a very large cat, that despises her with every fiber of its being. Sam has never been hated before, it's frustrating, it shatters several instagram-able fantasies about a big old tom-cat and a small tea-cup pig but there is something exhilarating about it non-the-less.

Summary
Evan is a creature more designed for paranoia than for hope, it's only in recent years that these instincts have lead him astray and he's been forced to try and learn to wrangle them. Starting as quickly as their post-mission meal at Nandos Evan finds himself unable to believe that the goodness can stick even when he beats the fearful monster inside of himself as fiercely as he can.
Evan is an animal surrounded by people who love him with and through his many fears, and as they prepare to go their separate ways Evan tries to hold onto his very fragile hope.
Or: post-canon angst about Evan and his tape box of hope, his fears about authority and his need to protect his friends while struggling to verbalize what he needs to feel protected but just this once people are getting it right for him

Summary
Sam has been tearing herself up with worry, something inside her knowing that something is wrong with Evan. It's probably a childish assumption, even despite their recent reunion the distance that has stretched between them in the years since they were young cannot be ignored. So many things, said and ignored had been added to the turmoil in-between them and it's very possible that this isn't Evan running away from the world and condemning himself to isolation, perhaps he is simply removing her from his life.
She still can't shake the worry though and when Evan's shadow appears in her room she knows her childlike and foolish instincts were correct.

Summary
A series of stories thinking about and exploring Sam/Evan and the weight of wanting and the desperate desire to care for each other without being a burden.
Can be read in any order.
General TW's: for canon typical Evan and Sam's struggles with self, unreliable narrators and deep emotion in the midst of catastrophizing, as well as dancing around playing with kinky behaviors and relationships that aren't explicitly sexual but will be clearly marked should they go in that direction.

Summary
Moderating the annoying youtuber’s livestreams was only ever meant to be a brief favour to her internet friend. Joining their team discord server was only ever meant to be a distraction. Pretending to be an old woman through it all was an accident. But as the 22-year-old tailor left running an ailing family business during a global pandemic, Sophie Hatter can be forgiven for making some questionable decisions along the way.
[Or: Sophie's strange lockdown hobby grows violently out of hand.]

Summary
Eddie made a strangled disbelieving noise, expression flickering. “You are not apologizing to me right now, for like, feeling a normal way about stuff. I can’t believe you.”
Steve pushed a shaking hand through his hair. His heart rate no longer in his ears meant he felt he could at least think a little more clearly. “Maybe it was the heat. Doesn’t always have to be something messed up, right?”
Eddie gave him a placating nod. “Sure, heat exhaustion is a helluva thing.”
It had been happening a lot recently. The… forgetting. Zonking out. Whatever. He was pretty sure he was just extra exhausted, it had been a few weeks since everything but it might have just been the adrenaline or something finally wearing off. Sometimes it was like he just forgot someone was speaking, or couldn’t remember for a moment what they’d been talking about. Like blinking out of a fog maybe.
It does not get better, in fact, it actually continues to get worse.

Summary
Steve Harrington has turned out to be a lot like a stray cat―the particular genre of stray cat Lonnie insisted Frog was: The kind that’s not really a stray at all, but looks so cute and sweet and pitiful that you can’t help yourself.
Once Jonathan paid him a little attention, he wouldn’t go the hell away. It was impossible to just ignore him, since he seemed to like being ignored―it must’ve been the thrill of the chase. There was a solid six months where he was almost always on the phone or in Jonathan’s bedroom, flipping his fucking hair around and drawling translate this for me, Byers. What’s our friend Robert Smith saying?
Jonathan has tried throwing rocks at him, metaphorically speaking; he’s been mean and he’s been honest; he’s left the most pessimistic parts of himself in charge.
And somehow, despite it all, Steve is still here.

“What?” Steve sputters.
