“Your boner is digging into me,” says Robin, and Steve snorts a tired sort of laugh.
“I don’t have a —”
“You do, I can feel it. Gross.”
“Okay, but it’s only a little one,” he says in a small voice which sounds like he’s impersonating someone.
“Are you ever going to let that go? I peed a little bit when the Russians got the torture devices out, okay?” She sounds amused, though.
Eddie jolts. “Russian torture devices?”
Robin carries on like she didn’t hear him but Steve catches his eye and he’s grinning. “How do you even have a boner dude? You were definitely having a nightmare I know your twitching means a nightmare… Did you have a boner over Vecna?”

Bevor er sein Auto überhaupt erreicht hatte, drückte Adam bereits ungeduldig das kleine Knöpfchen, es aufzuschließen, und blinzelte ob der plötzlichen Helligkeit der aufblinkenden Lichter.
Das Zittern seiner Hände könnte er noch auf die Kälte oder die Müdigkeit schieben, aber mindestens sein unscharfes Sichtfeld sollte theoretisch Hinweis genug sein, dass er nicht wirklich fahrtüchtig war.
Wer war das schon, nach einer alptraumreichen Nacht und einer ganzen Schachtel Kippen, noch zwei einzelnen, als es davon nicht besser geworden war.An genau einem Tag im Jahr fällt es Adam etwas schwerer, klarzukommen. Ganz besonders, wenn ihn dieser Tag etwas unvorbereitet trifft.

Aber während sie zusammen nach Chloë suchen, die im Chaos irgendwie verschwunden ist, müssen die beiden feststellen, dass sie doch mehr gemeinsam haben als zunächst gedacht.

Unschlüssig starrte er einige Sekunden auf das dunkle Display, doch Vincents mahnende Worte klangen ihm noch in den Ohren. Du rufst da an, wenn du nachts unterwegs bist. Sonst mach ich mir Sorgen, Adam. Und obwohl Adam manchmal ein Arsch war, wollte er nicht, dass Vincent sich seinetwegen sorgte. Zumindest nicht mehr als nötig, und vor allem nicht, wenn Adam um drei Uhr morgens vom Club nach Hause kam.

________Heide verkauft das Haus. Adam kauft eine Wohnung und muss sich damit auseinandersetzen, was ein Zuhause ist.

Ihre Mutter imitiert die Geste mit ihrer rechten Hand, während sie sich rechtfertigt. Caro zuckt nicht zurück, nicht vor der Hand, die sich ihr nähert. Sie hat keine Angst vor ihrer Mutter, obwohl ihr Blick unlesbar scheint.
“Man sollte keine Kinder schlagen.”
Für einen Moment fühlt Leo sich wie zurückkatapultiert in seine eigene Vergangenheit. Monate lang, Jahre lang hat er dabei zugesehen, wie Adams Vater auf Adam eingedroschen hat. Keine 100 Meter von Leos Baumhaus entfernt ist sein bester Freund tagtäglich gequält worden.
Als sich ein normales Frühstücksgespräch bei Familie Hölzer plötzlich in eine Debatte darüber verwandelt, ob man Kinder schlagen darf, muss sich der 19-jährige Leo mit seiner eigenen Vergangenheit und der von Adam beschäftigen.
