It starts with a Hellfire shirt. Mike doesn't know if it's cursed or blessed because wearing it always makes Will act strangely. Then, it's spiraling into a hope Mike didn't know he could have. Will has never been closer, but Mike still isn't sure he can have what he wants. Or can he?

“You’ll let me do your hair?”
Mike knows this is a bad idea. Knows he’ll be red the whole time and stutter and give himself away, but this is Will. Will with his hands in his hair, so close Mike can stare all he wants. Fantasize about what a kiss might be like. Hidden away in the safety of what should’ve been their bedroom. Maybe he can use today to convince Will it can be.
“Only if you make me look good.”
Will stands with a sweet smile. “Easiest job in the world then.” And then he disappears into the hallway before Mike can even start to stumble in front of him.

Summary
I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.

Summary
Mike Wheeler is a creative writing student in college, but his stories make no sense. Plotholes, foreshadowing that goes nowhere, random details that mean nothing, character moments with no payout, and unfulfilling endings. His professor suggests taking a mixed media elective to get inspiration from other kinds of stories. He chooses a comic book art class to appease his best friend, Will Byers.
Will gets Mike through his writer’s block by helping him realize he deserves a happy ending in his own story too.

Will really wishes he went on vacation with his mom, Hopper and El. He doesn't know if he can stand another second at the Wheeler house in this god damn heat. Sure, theres fans and windows open but they do nothing to help ease the sweltering weather clinging in the air, it does not help that Will stays in the basement where it feels like there is no air at all in summer.
Its a stupid thing to be annoyed about he knows that, after all he's survived worse than just the hot. Something — no someone— he corrects internally— that could kill him though?.

Summary
“Hey, well, if we’re both going crazy, then we’ll go crazy together, right?”
“Yeah, crazy together.”
Where everyone else treated Will as if he was some fragile thing, like glass that might shatter at the slightest touch, Mike made him feel the exact opposite—like maybe all the terrible things he had gone through in the Upside Down hadn't ruined him forever, but had made him stronger.
In which Will finally stops hiding, not all of Steve's advice is terrible, and Mike surprises everyone (including himself).
