Steve has begun to realize over the past few hours that Bucky’s aversion to touch was at least in large part because he didn’t trust himself to be touched, but Steve has packed that half-formed thought safely away to fully consider another time because there have already been plenty of tears tonight.
OR: The aftermath of the flashback opening scene of episode four of TFATWS, but throw Steve in there and make it fluffy.

Summary
Arriving on the Source after being separated from their bodies for so long was supposed to be a happy affair. The Scions were able to rest, recuperate, and get back to the pressing task at hand -- resolving what to do against the Garlean Empire during its inner turmoil. But of course, when you try to pry at what the Empire is doing, they strike back twice as hard. Suddenly a primal shows up, one different than others they've fought before but just as deadly in Ala Mhigo. They were supposed to be okay -- they've fought much and worse, and have survived to tell the tale. Alphinaud wasn't supposed to shove her out of the way of a collapsing building, and he wasn't supposed to be... missing.
After the rubble had settled, a blue ribbon and Alphinaud's half of their shared weapon, Adelophi, were the only signs that he was ever there in the first place.
She refused to believe he was dead. Everyone around her had started looking for him, but not him. Instead, they were looking for a dead body taken over by an Ascian, or worse, justice for his death. But Alisaie knew he wasn't gone -- there had to be another answer. And she won't stop until she finds out what really happened.

Chapter Twelve: After working himself to the point of collapse, Aymeric listens to the demands of his worried colleagues and takes a sabbatical. In a bold move, he invites the Warrior of Light to join him at Costa del Sol. He's not fully prepared for them to accept, and not at all prepared for anything that follows.
Chapter Thirteen: A radical solution to the calamity facing Ethyris is posed: the summoning of the primal Zodiark. Unable to accept the sacrifice of half of their population, Azem raises their grievances and resigns from the Convocation of Fourteen.
Chapter Fourteen: After their last dance, the Warrior of Light is resigned to the fate of never seeing Zenos ever again. Zenos, however, does not have the same idea.
Chapter Fifteen: While traipsing about dangerous and unknown ruins, the Warrior of Light opens up a box, as they are wont to do. This time, however, there are unintended consequences of the amnesiac kind.[ENDWALKER SPOILERS]
