I've had this idea rolling around in my head screaming at me since I played the dlc. So here I am trying to write something for the first time in twenty years (plz be nice ) We're bringing Cid back, ya'll. Five years after Drakes Head, Clive finds Cid in an unexpected place.
It was empty. Silent. Dark. Until, it wasn't. Cid’s eyes shot open with a gasp.
It felt like he had been holding his breath for eons. His lungs burned as he moved to sit up, not realizing at first that he’d woken up on a large piece of wood, his tired body half hanging off into icy cold water. The waves picked up and tossed him around violently, almost throwing him entirely into the sea. In a panic he scrambled for purchase and managed to get both of his legs back onto the wood.
“Fuuuuuuck!” he half screamed as he shook his head. He tossed it back to look at the sky in hopes to see something, anything to help him figure out where he was. Nothing but more fog and clouds were there to meet him.
A shimmer of blue light suddenly caught his eye.
Or, a late game fix-it where Cid lives, set during The Rising Tide DLC.

Clive Rosfield is freshly home from The Great War, relieved of duty with an honorable discharge. Unfortunately, his brother, Joshua, was not so lucky. But when something goes horribly wrong at the funeral, Clive and his closest friend, Jill, have no choice but to turn to Cid Telamon, the mortician who saw Joshua's corpse last. And Cid, ever the tinkerer, believes he can restore Joshua with a little bit of forbidden knowledge.

This will eventually end up as a throuple with Clive, Jill and Cid, but there will be many moments focused on the various relationships between all of them. I will try to note which chapters have sex/smut for a particular pair, or for all three, in case you want to skip or search something in particular. The Eikons are there to shape humanity along the lines of which Ultima desires. To make them malleable, to remind them of their folly of defying God. Eikons are cursed to live mortal lives, in flesh prisons, free only for the briefest of moments.
Ultima made their Eikons the symbols of its reign, confident that its creations would be obedient to the end.
A shame, then, that Ultima shaped them to guide humanity, to desire their shackles and limits unbound, and abandoned its Eikons. In absence of the divine, where else was one to go? After all, if they were damned, at least then that damnation came with the taste of freedom.
