In time, however, different encounters and different people will offer her alternatives to her dream, will she stay the course to fame and fortune, or will she become something else entirely?

It's been two years since V agreed to undergo a procedure that was meant to save her life, she wakes up in a world she barely recognizes, to friends that were no longer there, to relationships that no longer matter, and to a world that had moved on without her. She also discovers she can't even go back to her old life, to resume her quest to be the very best. Because she is already a Legend in the eyes of the Afterlife, and there is no such thing as a living legend.
Her combat capabilities have also been diminished, something to do with the procedure, her body being unable to take combat-oriented augments and implants. V's world is now colder, more hostile, and more depraved than she remembers.

In the corporate world there is always someone whose jealousy runs deep, because of this, Tamelyn became jealous of Stour and Vogel bond of each other. So frames Nicole in a data leak and has her contract terminated by the corp. Meredith was not only disappointed but can’t look Nicole in the eyes anymore. She couldn’t bring herself to kill Nicole even though she was loyal to the corps, she decided to let Nicole live under a harsh condition, meaning she had to never show her face again to avoid any conflict. They meet again after two years passed and a lot has changed between them.

V has gone through so much to undo the choices made at Kompeki Plaza. Slotting the Relic was the catalyst for a seemingly non-stop, adrenaline-fueled, fever dream through Night City searching for the cure to fix her. After choosing to assault Araska Tower with Panam and the Aledcaldos, she finally thought she was at the trial's end; the end was in sight. But Alt lied to her, she fucked up leaving her with six months left to live. Not on her watch!
V was fed up; she wanted to start her life with Judy, who’d join her in fleeing Night City. V wanted to live, and she was going to find a way. Her journey takes her out of Night City for some much-needed R&R while they come to terms with past events. But time runs short, and V continues to have "episodes" - bloody noses, blackouts, strange dreams. She needed a fix, and she needed it sooner rather than later.
V and Judy journey to Phoenix to find Doctor Natasha Brooks, an ex-scientist at Biodyne Systems and creator of a unique series of Nanobots designed to fix damaged tissue in Multiple sclerosis patients. Could this be the cure she’s been searching for? Could she acquire them before her clock finally runs out?

The new gig is right up his alley, a missing woman named Carolyn Ames. Out of contact with her parents for over nearly two days, a situation they find unnerving, they contact their local fixer in Santo to hire a merc or three to find their missing daughter. The story picks up the next day after the incident in Japantown, with the former members of the group of veteran mercs taking up new identities as they search the city for the missing woman with the help of their new 'new guy'.

Tale as old as time - woman pulls heist, woman loses friends and credibility, woman ends up alone with a Night City Legend erasing her identity and replacing it with his own. Not by my choice, I'd add. Things seemed manageable for V alone until they weren't anymore, and she found herself on a path that put her in front of Detective River Ward. She's thankful she met the badge, and I'm just thankful she waited to fuck him 'til after he changed careers.
V never fucking listens to me, but maybe this time... it'll turn out better than I'm expecting it to.
