“I’m happy we talked about… us,” Mike breaks the silence. “I feel like it’s been eating me alive.”
Sure, secrets are easy to hide in the dark. Soft blushes and nervous glances go unnoticed and everything becomes guarded in the veil of night. But secrets aren’t the only thing that hide, their consequences seem so far out of reach when darkness warps blurry vision. When everything is skewed and Will can’t tell what’s only a trick of the soft nightlight peeking under the door from the hall, he could trust himself even less than normal.
“Me too,” Will says. If Mike started it, who was to say he couldn’t give in a little bit. Especially when he couldn’t see past the weight of his words.
Will doesn’t really want to sleep. Not at all.

Will is living with the Wheelers after moving back from Lenora. Mike decides Will has spent too long sleeping on the uncomfortable couch in the basement.

Summary
The grip around his hands on the barrel and trigger tightens again as Will aims for the both of them, and fat droplets of tears spill out Mike’s eyes as another shot booms around the field, blowing apart the last of the bottles. The recoil is immense and jerks him back into Will. And the hot mouth pressed into his temple gasps the same time he does before –
“I’ll do whatever it is you need me to do, Mike. No one’s gonna hurt you. Certainly not him.”
It’s a feat to turn around then, only an inch away from those laden eyes, the green in them turned darker. Their joined arms lower together as the eyes watch him, waiting for Mike to say something, but Mike is breathless already and his head is a chaotic mess of don’t do it, don't do it, don’t do it as his own eyes betray him – and for a dense moment it's just them, Will staring at Mike staring at his mouth.
It feels like a good time for the world to end right about now. Mike wants it to end. Because he knows if he stays where he is for another second –
Mike bolts.

“Don’t worry, I’ll do it,” Mike protests weakly, but Will ignores him. “You need to rest, yeah,” he continues softly, swallowing audibly at the thought of Will’s fingers on him again.
“I want to take care of—” Will mumbles, fumbling for gauze and bandages, his focus wavering. Mike notices the flush creeping up Will’s cheeks, bright and vivid against his otherwise pale, tired skin. And it warms something inside Mike, just a little, because Will wants to take care of him.
or; Mike is confused, and maybe Will offering to take care of his wounds after their encounter with Vecna only makes things worse.

Mike would have been perfectly content with never exploring the depth of his repressed feelings, if it wasn't for the deadly flowers blooming in his lungs.

Mike and Will finally have a moment alone after the MAC-Z battle to discuss Will's newly revealed abilities. Will jumps on the chance to mess with him, and Mike falls for it. And for Will, too.

“Mhm!” Yuuji nods aggressively. “Love Sasuke. Can’t get enough of him! I just adore the whole show. And the manga! Such a huge fan! I really enjoy the, uh, extended metaphor about cycles of hate and generational trauma. I eat that stuff up! I just don’t own any of the manga. Or the merch. So, uh-” Yuuji gestures wildly behind him. “- Poster.” he finishes awkwardly.
“... Gotcha.” Fushiguro replies slowly.
Yuuji replaces his bikini model pin-up with a poster of Sasuke from Naruto. Which could mean nothing.

The man in front of him had bubblegum pink hair that glowed sort of orange in the sunlight. His face was a mix of sharp and round features, and he seemed wholly kind. The man's eyebrows were knit in concern and Megumi's focus shifted to the man’s toned arms, one on his head inspecting the wound.
"Uh," Megumi sputtered intelligently, brain still a little broken; half because of the throbbing of his head and half because of the gorgeous man before him. Did he die? Was he in heaven, or was this a dream?
