Summary
“Woah,” Will whispers to himself incredulously, laughing a little under his breath as he shuffles through the pages of the letter again. He can’t help but admire the smooth, off-white stationery, its pleasant weight in his hands. A serious-looking “MJW” watermark adorns the top of each page, totally at odds with the entertaining missive and its author’s garbled cursive. Will laughs quietly to himself again. What sixteen-year-old boy on earth has monogrammed stationery?
Michael J. Wheeler, apparently. Where did Max find this guy?
Mike Wheeler is insecure, even by normal teenage standards. So when his friend, Max, connects him with her old friend from California, he's surprised by how easily they get along. But as the weeks wear on, their letters grow increasingly personal, and they make plans to embark on a week-long trip, Mike can't let go of one inconvenient, anxiety-inducing thought: What if he wants to be more than friends?

Summary
Having lived in exile from the citadel since he was twelve, Will knows well the necessity of having a daily schedule: wake up early, gather materials, make tinctures and poultices for clients, take care of the garden, and never use magic when your hands will do just fine. These are the tasks he lives by until one ordinary day when he wakes up late, and it all spins out of control. He goes to the garden in the evening, far past his usual time, and finds an unwelcome visitor stealing his food and flowers. It only gets worse when he learns this man has been visiting every night for the past several months, unbeknownst to Will, and his eyes look just a little too familiar.
And once it becomes clear his unwelcome guest isn't going to stop his nightly visits anytime soon, Will is forced to choose between pretending as if they're strangers or divulging the peculiar past they share, between wearing a mask and allowing the truth to be told.

Bookmarker's Notes
I’ll make your tea just how you like it; I’ll share as long as it’s not those peach preserves, in which case I’ll be forced to take them for my own; every time I pluck a flower, it’ll always be for you.
I loved you. I love you. I’ll love you.
***
Everything ends, the whispers hiss.
Yes, it does, he thinks, But at least there are things to make it all worthwhile.
***
The fire continues to crackle in the hearth, and he thinks that he’ll miss its warmth, even if their new home will have one just the same. There is much history hidden in the floorboards and cabinets–an awful, painful, lonely history–but also one of growth and belonging, of healing, of cuts fading into scars. There are shadows in the corners, but there are also traces of light filtering through the window and in between the cracks in the ceiling, memories of flower glows hidden in empty bottles and glass jars.
It is painful, yes, but there has been joy amidst it all, too.
***
“And what about you?” Mike tries, that grin still there, soft and persistent. “Is there anything you’d like to say before the all which the divine lives in?”
“The divine which lives in all,” Will corrects.
“Listen, the first time, I was too focused on how much I hated my station in life, and this time, I’m too focused on how I finally get to do this with you. Forgive me for not remembering the exact words.”
Will chuckles softly before allowing his breaths to settle out, his eyes wandering up to Mike’s. “You said it best, I think.” He squeezes his hand once more. “We’ll grow together until we can’t anymore, and then we’ll meet again.”

"Absolutely perfect."

Summary
After two months of sweating over the checkout counter, Will was more than ready to get away from Hawkins. He was, admittedly, a little excited to spend some one-on-one time with Mike, too, who had spent most of June and July in Michigan teaching math to brainiac summer camp kids. With them both going away to college in just a few weeks, these last few moments of summer were precious.
or, will goes on vacation with mike's family. they get....bored.

Summary
Slow-Burn, canon-compliant and set after season 4. Will Byers & Byler centric. If you like lots of feels and pining, a nice dose of spooky beasties, some silly character moments and seeing our boy Will kicking ass, taking names and coming of age, you're in the right place.
Premise:
It's two weeks after the fall of Hawkins and the Party are trying to figure out how to move on, find Max and stop Vecna. Will's heart is still breaking over Mike and El, but when those emotions awaken something decidedly more otherworldly and powerful he, and a strange new friend, have to confront what really happened in Hawkins on November 6th 1983 and what side Will himself is really on.
A fever-dream, mucho-feels, super long, semi-fix-it, version of Season 5.

Bookmarker's Notes
Mike’s false smile fades to nothing. His back is bent, shoulders rounded, like he wants to hide, like he is falling short, like he is anything other than the glorious, shining axis around which Will’s whole world turns.
***
He sounds so much like eleven-year-old-DM-Mike, wrinkling his nose at some quibble over gaming lore, that Will almost laughs.
“God, I’ve missed you.” he blurts, before he can think better of it. Judging by the breathy laugh down the line, Mike doesn’t mind.
***
Will closes his eyes and opens his heart, spilling the colours of every pencil and paint he has ever owned into the ether. He sketches flowers and sunsets, still waters and peaceful beaches, snow-capped mountains and lonely caves, the warmth of hot chocolate and the smell of the woods after rain. He sends the memory of a night long ago, when a small and terrified boy crouched in a nest in the woods and made a new and precious friend. He sends the same surge of surrender that he gave the shadow just a short time before; a deep, open-hearted trust.

Summary
"And there were a lot of things Keith wanted to say at that moment. Three words he couldn’t think in their entirety, gasped into his ear over and over. You’re beautiful, you’re beautiful against his collarbone and clavicle. I didn’t know they made boys like you into that freckle over his ribs. A hundred little confessions, whispered like secrets into every swathe and patch of skin he could trace with his fingertips, until the lights flickered on and he had to leave again like his heart wasn’t cracking in his chest."
or: Keith and Lance start sleeping together, and it ruins their lives—until it maybe fixes them.
