Summary
Eddie arranges him on the platform, leaning his weight on his elbow and his hip, the other leg bent. He adjusts the drape of Steve's other arm so that it's across his hip and then he lifts the hem of Steve's shirt, draping it so that it exposes his belly. Eddie's fingers brush his jaw again, nudging his face to one side.
"Are you sure this doesn't look ridiculous?" says Steve, watching Eddie as he pads back behind the camera.
"You definitely don't look ridiculous, man," says Eddie, shooting a few frames. "I know you probably feel it right now, because you're not used to it, but, trust me — camera loves you, dude. You look like a wet dream."Now Steve's definitely blushing. He knows his face won't make it into the shot — he signed a contract, after all — but Eddie can see it. He finds that he doesn't mind that so much; it doesn't seem to be bothering Eddie, anyway, Maybe, like the growing hard-on, it's kind of the point…
or Eddie is a photographer in need of a model. Steve could do with the extra cash.

Summary
It's the longest Friday of his life, pretty much. He's at the door to greet his kids at 8am, and then there's reading and writing and Math, lunch and a few chapters of the book that they're reading together. There's skinned knees and headaches and Art and, all day, all Mr Harrington can think about is what time he's going to have to leave the house if he's going to make Indianapolis International in time for his flight to New York. If (when) he makes that flight, he's got a couple of hours to get from LaGuardia to JFK and then it's the redeye to London. He's checked, and the train between London Euston and Birmingham (pronounced perplexingly differently than the one in Alabama) takes a couple of hours and there's a station right near the stadium that Corroded Coffin are headlining at. He'll have like…sixteen hours before he has to leave for the airport again. It's not long. After a month, it'll be enough.
It's a lot of moving parts.
Still, Steve believes that the Universe owes him good things. He's kind of believed that for a while.

"So he…you know. Loves her. Enough to marry her, anyway," he says, and he can't look Steve in the eye while he says it, so he finds himself looking at his mouth instead. "And they get married but she's bitten by a snake, and she dies."
"That's shitty luck," says Steve, his fingers tracing slow, whorling patterns over Eddie's exposed ribs."Yeah," he says, breathes. "It is. And Orpheus — he can't live with that, right? Like he's not willing to live without her. So he figures out a way to go down, all the way down, right into Hell so that he can try and bring her home."

Summary
"I can keep it open," says Eleven, her face set and serious. She's got a hat pulled on over her short-shaved hair. Steve feels a pang of loss on her behalf, thinks about how he'd feel if someone held him down and shaved his head, made him into something they wanted him to be, instead of who he'd fought to make himself.
"I'll be as quick as I can," he says. He's deliberately dressed for utility - the jacket that he picked up at War Zone over a black t-shirt and combat pants and boots. In his backpack, he's got bottled water and protein bars, candy, a baggie of Honeycombs. He's got clean underwear and a t-shirt and socks. A flashlight. Bandaids. Antiseptic. He's got his bat resting on his shoulder.
"I'd feel a lot better if you'd take a handgun, kid," says Hopper, his arms folded across his chest.
"Not if I shoot myself in the foot, Sir," he says.***

Summary
Mostly, on nights like these, he just tries to stay out of the way. These days, Eddie has a dressing room to himself, so they have a little space before he goes out on stage and Steve sits on the couch, long legs stretched out in front of him, one arm pillowed behind his head, and he watches Eddie get ready to go out on stage, watches him strip himself back so that he can build himself up into something new. No matter how many times he sees it, it's still fascinating.

Even after fifteen years together, Steve never gets tired of being there when Eddie is performing.

Summary
Steve sighs, like he’s trying to laugh but he can’t quite manage it. “I’m sorry, man,” he says too lightly, “gonna need you to drive for a bit. I know it’s not part of the plan, but hey.” He gets out a laugh now, but all it does is set Eddie’s teeth on edge. “Henderson said you’re good at—what’s it called, in your game? Improv?”
And Eddie hates it, hates how soft Steve’s voice is, hates how the conversation is so clearly a distraction, a last ditch attempt at protection from… he doesn’t know. He doesn’t want to know.

Summary
Last night, Alex slept in the Dante bedroom, staring at the blue ceiling and trying not to have a panic attack. Finally, she fell into a restless sleep, dreaming of Darlington’s hellish voice yelling, "Murder!" and hearing it reverberate through the halls of Black Elm. When she slowly woke, it was with the corrupted memory of his body curled behind hers and one clawed hand digging into her breast, drawing blood.
*It starts with a trip to hell to rescue Darlington, who is traumatized and transformed by his months in the realm of the dead. As tensions rise between the houses on campus, with a suspicious interim dean calling the shots, Alex and Darlington have to try to keep everything from crumbling down around them. On top of it all, or perhaps underlying it, new tensions rise between the two of them: tensions that could burn them alive if not resolved.

Steve could swear he sees a flash of hurt across Eddie’s face, but it’s gone before he can be sure.
“Alright,” Eddie says.
“Not because you’re a dude.” Steve needs to make that clear. “Just so you know. It’s entirely because it’s you, because you’re so fucking annoying.”
“Yeah, yeah, sure,” Eddie says, and at least he’s smiling now.
