“Cool! Cool.” Steve appears keenly aware of the oddness of their situation— the king talking to the peasant— but tries to shake it off, eyebrows furrowed in focus. “Okay, so, I just need to ask: you need lighting to take a photo, right? You can’t just— take one in the dark?”
Jonathan could lie to him. He could so, so easily lie to him. Dispel his doubts, that there was someone with a camera in his bushes last night. But for some reason, he hesitates.
Jonathan glances down, pushing hair out of his eyes a bit awkwardly. “Well… no. Film cameras, their settings can be adjusted, so that you can shoot in dimmer environments.” He feels daring, and looks back up. “Why do you ask?”
God, he’s going to hell.

Carol chews her gum, blatantly eyeing him up and down. “So you’re like, the Malibu Barbie Tommy won’t shut up about?”
He blinks. “Huh?”
She jerks a thumb over her shoulder. Sure enough—Hagan, at the jock table, failing miserably to hide the puppy eyes he’s sending over.
“My boyfriend misses you,” she smirks.
She plops into the empty seat across from him, right beside Heather. The cheer captain scowls. Carol beckons Tommy over, and he comes like a fucking dog to heel.

Harringrove, but Billy has to struggle with the mundane day-to-day, high school social hierarchy and shitty dad. All while trying not to fall for those soft brown eyes from across the lunch hall.

Steve wonders how it would be to have a family, he remembers those missions where he had to play the role of someone's kid, and as fucked up as it sounds those were his fondest memories; Now he is stuck with a family that is not really his, a body of a kid burried in the backyard and a role he forced himself to play, or at least that was until a new family was introduced to him in a form of interdimensional monsters, loud children and a pair of weird adults (parents).
Basically a fic of Steve being Seven and going through all the seasons with all the implications of him being a lab kid and powers that are meant to hurt and destroy and obviously trying to hide it.
