The voices of his friends muffle in the background as he sleeps. He hears James laugh, something so pure, and Remus tries not to smile. If he does, Sirius would most likely make fun of him.

“What’d you think, Tom— oh.”
Tommy doesn’t have enough energy to say anything. His head slips from Wilbur’s shoulder to his chest, Wilbur’s voice becoming a cotton melody sending him to sleep much like a siren would sink a ship.
Strong arms come around him, and Wilbur shifts slightly, making them more comfortable. Tommy grips the front of Wilbur’s shirt, thoughts becoming muddied.
“I— goodnight, Toms.”
Wilbur seems to hesitate for a bit, maybe holding himself back, before pushing his hair away to press a kiss to Tommy’s forehead.

“Oh, great, great fun,” Tony says and swipes away from the article about Spider-Man wrestling a giant spider on the roof of the Chrysler building.
It’s quite obvious that Tony knows he is Spider-Man, but decided not to acknowledge it; decided to keep the secret going. For what reason, Peter doesn’t know. Maybe Tony thinks he can use the information in his favor, or maybe he just doesn’t want Peter to freak out. Either way, it serves Peter just fine, because Tony tries so hard to keep up his oblivious act that he never prods too hard or looks too deep.

“Pete?” Tony emphasized, jaw dropping at the sheer audacity. “Since when do you use nicknames for people?”
“I call Bucky by nicknames.” Steve pointed out.
“I called the kid ‘Pete’ first,” Tony said, narrowing his eyes. “Stop trying to steal my shtick. Get your own.”
“You don’t own the nickname, Tony.” Steve looked amused as he said it.
“I can own whatever I want, I’m a billionaire,” Tony replied, already running through the legal process in his mind of how he could possibly patent a nickname. He’d have to ask Pepper. These were dire circumstances. He refused to have his own personal intern usurped by someone wearing the carbon polymer equivalent of Uncle Sam’s tighty-whities.

OR: The media gets one image of Steve and Peter getting hot dogs together and runs with it, assuming that Peter is Steve’s secret son. Tony takes great insult to this fact. Tony Stark does not like being one-upped by people stealing his personal intern. Least of all by Captain America. He has a reputation to uphold, after all.

Tony gets amnesia. When Peter comes to visit him in the hospital, Tony takes one look at him and immediately assumes that Peter's his son.

Tony keeps making his snow angel. He moves his arms and legs back and forth and stares up at the bright blue sky until Peter moves a little closer, eclipsing the sun. He narrows his eyes and stares down at him like he's insane.
Because he is insane.
"Peter," Tony says, beginning the conversation he's had so many times before. "Do you trust me?"
"Of course," Peter says.
"We're in a time loop. I'm Bill Murray. I remember everything, you guys don't, we're...we are trapped. We're trapped, buddy. I've done this over and over. And over. And over and over and over. I don't know how to fix it. So I'm...giving up. I make snow angels now. And that's it."
