The only time she gets close to understanding how everyone else must feel when she arrives so suddenly is within the first few minutes of arriving to Winterfell.
Her ships have been docked on a coast in between Bear Island and the mainland. She and the members of her crew who cared enough about the stories they’d gotten out of her bowed their heads when passing the island and the statue of Lyanna Mormont that faced the water. Even from a distance, she could tell what the statue, arms high above her with an axe in one hand and a sword in the other, was made of. It’s hard to forget what Dragonglass looks like after what they’d done with it.
She has a feeling she knows who made the statue, as well.
