Summary
Back in the real world, Pomni is trying to readjust to average, boring, completely non-amazing-non-digital reality.
When she runs into an all too familiar asshole, she’s forced to fully confront what exactly the Circus is, the way it’s impacted her and her friends, and more pressingly: how it’s entered the real world.
Jax and Pomni must hunt down the other four members of their digital squad, and quickly, as the new tech company ‘C/A’ is quickly making its way into the spotlight and spells out nothing but trouble.

“How the fuck do you know my name?” Dean hisses.
The man doesn’t look scared. He is watching Dean like there is nothing else worth watching, lips a little parted, eyes a little soft. And blue. Real blue, like the ocean on a postcard.
The ice spreading down Dean’s spine makes him shiver.
“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”

In the forest, he’s terrified.
It’s dark. He’s in the forest. And he’s alone.
His shirt and pants are thin, his shoes designed for carpet and varnished wood. Out here, everything is sharp and hard and cold. Dean shivers. Branches prickle and scratch but he pushes further into them anyway; a small animal trying to hide.
He is alone. And he’s never been alone, never ever ever.

For the next few years, Peter became his dad’s shadow.
They spent everyday together, tinkering in the lab, laughing through disastrous attempts at cooking that left the kitchen in chaos, or curling up for movie nights that inevitably ended with Peter falling asleep halfway through.
It only got better when his dad helped form the Avengers. They had all moved into Avengers Tower in New York, and while it was quite different from his life in Malibu, Peter didn’t mind. He loved it.
He’d have breakfast early with Nat, Bucky and Steve. He’d get spy lessons from Clint (which mostly involved crawling around in the vent and shooting people with nerf guns). And he’d even sometimes get science lessons from Dr Bruce Banner himself.
Life was great. Perfect even.
Until Harley showed up.
