"These bastards just goddamn Vecna'd themselves and you're just staring off into space like—""For Christ's sake, I am not staring into space," Dustin finally responded. "Not unless you don't see that too."
Dustin pointed up to one of the trees and turned to glare at Steve.
Jonathan helped Nancy up as they moved closer to Dustin, hoping to follow his line of sight.
Jonathan squinted his eyes, inspecting every barren, twisted tree branch. Icy dread found its way into his heart when he saw nothing. But just before the fear for Dustin's wellbeing could settle, the red lightning was back, shedding the much-needed light through the branches. And there it was.
"Is that..." Nancy took a curious step closer. "A backpack?"
