After encountering an intriguing Sholar researching a Mayan ritual at the Library of Alexandria while retrieving an anklet for his customer, Tom Riddle found himself at Yax Mutal, an ancient Mayan city deep in the Guatemalan Rain Forest. After all, he is determined to make his ascendance foolproof and he would do whatever it takes. Even that would mean scrying alternate futures, enduring to see himself defeated almost every bloody time but one, and steeling a witch from said future to make that one outcome the reality where he ruled. After all, he is Lord Voldemort and if one formidable Hermione Granger was powerful enough to make sure his demise hundreds of times in hundreds of alternate futures it would only mean she should belong to him. And she would belong to him.
