Summary
In his seventh year, Severus' six year old brother, Icarus goes missing the night Eileen and Tobias murder each other. When Icarus turns up twelve years later, the mind of a boy in the body that grew without it, Severus initially welcomes the responsibility of providing for the brother he failed to protect and find as penance. When he begins to learn that his brother's belief in a dream world and a monster he claims murdered their parents are not merely the products of a traumatized child's mind, but the truth, the two begin to grow apart soon after they're reunited. Though Severus seeks to protect him from a world he is not ready to face, Icarus inevitably lashes out in pursuit of independence his brother thinks him yet too much a child to bear.

But the mind doesn't mean to do this, it's only an act of survival - what it is programmed to believe is best for the vessel it controls.
It may deceive and contort what is reality, but, it is trying to be kind.
When the vessel gains control over a part of their subconscious however, the ecosystem of thought begins to lose full control.
The vessel can tap into what the mind doesn't want them to perceive, and this can be even more detrimental to the host.
What might happen then?

Summary

As he had entered the empty construction site, he had tripped over debris from the previous tenants. They hadn’t had enough time to properly move out, so there were scattered remains of lives in the empty apartments. When he saw a communal children’s play space he stood frozen for a few seconds before sinking to his knees and screaming. Fire had burst from his veins and snaked along hallways, bursting pipes and catching on old electrical wiring while Johnny sat encased in a ball of flaming rage. His tears felt like lava and his hands melted the floor beneath him but he screamed until he couldn’t anymore and then laughed until the floors above him started collapsing around him. He hadn’t controlled the fire at all which resulted in several close calls to his safety before he was able to get out of the building as it started folding in on itself. When it was done and he was home again, he had finally found a purpose to what he had previously considered a cursed existence: burn them all to ash.
