As the car drove along, John stared out the window. Memories were hitting him in quick succession, recognizing places he hadn’t seen in years. For some reason, his mind got stuck on what it was like to arrive there for the first time, the air crisp on an early fall morning. He remembered the coolness of the light breeze, how it was comforting against his too hot skin.
