Summary
In an effort to save Jonathan from a girl who can't take a hint and to give Tommy some hell, Steve loudly announces the Byers boy as his boyfriend. He expects it to blow over quickly, but things quickly snowball as everyone around them finds out and doesn't realize it's not real. To not upset people, they decide to go with it, pretending to be boyfriends for a while, getting closer to each other in the meantime.
There's no way that Steve's longstanding crush on the other and Jonathan's new revelations about Steve could possibly get in the way... Right?

Summary
As if being the designated babysitter wasn't enough, Steve finds himself accidentally becoming the group's designated birthday baker. Not that he minds - he likes to feel needed, plus it's a good distraction from the nightmares that have plagued him since that fateful night at the mall.
He does mind, however, the fact that Billy Hargrove seems to be weaving his way into the group. He's apparently had a personality transplant since the Mind Flayer nearly tore him apart, or so the story goes, but Steve isn't duped. It's fine, though, he can carry on ignoring the guy and ignoring the way his face still tingles with the ghost of Billy's fists.
But then, get this.
Steve has to bake Billy a birthday cake, too.

Wayne Munson’s lived his life mostly free from the hubbub of small town gossip. The adrenaline wears off, the drugs wear off, but that heart taproot doesn’t disappear. If anything, it gets louder.
She knows Steve is in a lot of pain, and the ringing in his ears hasn’t stopped. She knows he keeps looking at her right ankle until he finally says to one of the paramedics, “She’s not going to say it, but I think she twisted her ankle.”
The paramedic kneels before Robin, palpating her foot and ankle before declaring it a mild sprain and wrapping it up. Over his head, Robin and Steve stare at each other.
What the hell is happening, he asks without saying a word.
I don’t know, how are we doing this? She replies.

Robin is pretty sure she's going to die in the Russian Hell Basement under Starcourt. When they give her the truth serum it seems to unlock something inside her. Something that binds Steve and her together.
